Hi, I am Diana Lucía!
The author and illustrator behind Carmelita Walks freely in Lake Tahoe and Carmelita Camina sin Prisa en Lake Tahoe. I grew up in Cali, Colombia, and moved to California about a decade ago.
I am a creator of curious things that I proudly call art. I enjoy exploring different mediums and styles and spending my time mixing colors while drinking herbal tea!
My work is endlessly inspired by nature, my constant journeys, and the little things that make me happy. I adore the idea that my artwork might bring joy to children and adults.
I brought to life the Carmelita book series in 2021, by merging my professional background in Social Communication and Early Childhood Education. I am glad I followed my heart, and I am delighted to hear from parents and teachers that their children love both versions of my book.
